Forcing Congress to Fight Big Tech Control of AI
5 Mar 2025
1. Laws (legislation) about an issue are made in Congress (the Senate and the House) by subcommittees specific to the issue.
2. Only a small select group of congresspeople (senators or representatives) are on each subcommittee.
3. You, as an individual voter, are only allowed to contact your own 3 congresspeople (2 senators, 1 representative), at best.
4. Therefore, you as an individual voter have no representation in Congress about most issues.
5. The only way to be represented in Congress about a specific issue is to help financially support an expert on the issue who can contact congresspeople on the appropriate subcommittees and have him make it known to them what you think.

Forcing the Judiciary to Fight Big Tech Control of AI
5 Mar 2025
Most people think that the only way to influence the judicial
branch of the federal government about an issue is to protest
appointments of judges who
might have a differing
opinion on the issue. These appointments are made by the
President and confirmed by the Senate (via
committee),
both of which an individual voter like you has essentially
zero influence over. Even if an individual voter had
influence over judicial appointments, he/she couldn't be sure
how their chosen judge would actually rule on the issue. The
only way to influence the judiciary about an issue is to help
financially support an expert on the issue who can file amicus
curiae (friend of the court) briefs in precedent-setting cases
about the issue. Thus,

Forcing the Executive to Fight Big Tech Control of AI
5 Mar 2025
The executive branch of the federal government, executing the
laws made by
Congress,
is not just the President of the United States. It also
includes all the many departments, whose leaders have
considerable power in how (and whether) the laws are executed.
Knowing which departments cover a specific issue is difficult
and the leaders of these departments have purposely made it
difficult for an individual voter like you to contact them (by
hiding their email addresses for example) to influence them
about a specific issue. The only way to influence them about
an issue is to help financially support an expert on the issue
who knows which department covers the specific issue and can
contact its leaders to let them know what you think.
